JOB OVERVIEW:
The P&N Assurance team provides quality audit and assurance services for the clients we serve. As an Assurance Staff, under direct supervision, you will perform assigned tasks in the technical areas of client engagements and contribute to providing valuable client service. You will be responsible for knowing and understanding the Firm’s professional requirements and lines of business.

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
•        Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other related degree. Ability to sit for the CPA exam and obtain license upon meeting the state of Louisiana requirements.
•        Work Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Assurance Staff, you will work on a team to provide quality client service with the following responsibilities and requirements, including but not limited to:
•        Serve the needs of our clients by planning and performing financial audits, reviews, and compilations.
•        Participate on assigned engagements: conduct audit tests of control and compliance and on accounts such as cash, accounts payable, and fixed assets to verify fair representation of client financial statements, identify issues and propose appropriate solutions, perform research on technical issues, maintain the ability to apply GAAP and GAAS consistently, and perform self-review of work product.
•        Coordinate with the audit team lead on all phases of the engagement, including communications with the client, scheduling, and assignments.


•        Have the capability to professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals and promptly communicate any significant findings or questions that involve accounting principles or financial statement presentation to the audit team leads
•        Have appropriate technical knowledge, critical and independent thinking skills, a desire to learn, and self-disciplined.
•        Ability to assist the team leads in making professional decisions related to engagements including the assessment of engagement risks, determining which procedures to perform to arrive at a desired level of assurance, and evaluating supporting evidence with professional skepticism.
•        Highly organized and capable of functioning in a fast-paced environment.
•        Computer literate with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite of products or similar software applications.
•        You must be able to drive/commute to client locations.
•        Overtime may be required during busy season based on client needs.
